EWS/EP-WET SURFACE PRIMER

Preparation

• primer/nylon roller
• drill with mixing spindle attachment
• gloves

Mixing

• Measure the moisture content of the subfloor: max 10%
• make sure the floor is free of dust and grease and that any loose particles have been removed
• tape the edges to a sufficient height to prevent splashes
• check you have sufficient A & B material (for consumption, see label)

Mixing

• Combine the A and B component in the correct proportion (see label)
• mix for 2 minutes using a drill with mixing spindle attachment

Application: scatter

Pour the mixture onto the floor and spread evenly with a nylon roller, brush, window/floor squeegee

Application: remove excess sand

Depending on the system to be placed on top of the primer, +/-5 minutes after application you can scatter fire-dried sand

• • for flat roll coatings, waterproofing membrane, scratch coat: do not scatte
  • for mortar floors:
    • • 0.1-0.3 mm or,
      • 0.4-0.8 mm
  • For stone and marble carpet:
    • • 0.4-0.8 mm
  • for anti-slip floor depending on desired effect:
    • • 0.4-0.8 mm ,or
      • 0.8-1.2 mm, or
      • carbodura 0.5-1.0 mm

Cleaning tools

After drying (+/-16 hours at 20°C) remove the excess sand

• • Note: Check the scattered sand has firmly fixed everywhere. If the substrate is too porous, the primer may be completely absorbed, resulting in the sand not sticking. In this case, apply an extra layer!

Additional points of attention

• Used rolls cannot be reused.
• Empty packaging: cured material or scrapings => construction waste, otherwise => chemical waste
• Clean mixing spindle attachment with acetone

Disclaimer

• Note: mixed product reacts quickly in the bucket, becoming very hot and causing harmful fumes. Therefore it is recommended that the bucket be placed outside if it is not empty after 10 minutes.
• Note: Check the scattered sand has firmly fixed everywhere. If the substrate is too porous, the primer may be completely absorbed, resulting in the sand not sticking. In this case, apply an extra layer!
