Tools

  • Drill with mixing spindle attachment
  • Gloves
  • A comb or a notched trowel with triangular points.
  • Spiked roller

Preparation and substrate check

  • Verify that the primer layer (EP-Rapid Primer) and any installed plinths are dry.
  • Apply Turbodec Basecoat after EP-Rapid Primer is ‘fully and densely’ broadcasted.
  • Only when the primer is fully cured, the application of Turbodec Basecoat can begin.
  • Measure the floor temperature to determine the type of Basecoat (LT or HT) for application
  • If the primer layer is completely dry, the excess broadcast gravel must first be completely removed. Brush this away and then use a vacuum cleaner. Then check again if the primer is well broadcast everywhere.

Processing

  • Prepare an amount of Turbodec Basecoat to spread in 1 take.
  • Weigh the right amount of initiator based on the measured floor temperature.
  • Combine the initiator and basecoat (1 min.) Then add Max Level Filler into a homogeneous mixture (1 -2 min.)
  • Next, spread Turbodec Basecoat over the floor with a comb (thickness of 3 to 4 mm.) Carefully spread the basecoat along the plinths.
  • Turbodec Basecoat must rest for at least 15 minutes. Use a spiked roller afterwards to ensure optimal venting.
  • After 15 minutes of rest, start broadcasting ‘fully and densely’ (3 kg/m²).
  • Once a section is broadcast, curing starts within a few seconds. Optimal drying time is 45 min. (22°c and 55% RH)

Cleaning

Clean the used tools with Cleaner EP, isopropanol or acetone. Cured product residues must be removed mechanically.

Storage and preservation

Shelf life: 12 months in closed and original packaging when stored in a cool and dry place (10-25°C).
Turbodec Broadcast Gravel should be stored in a dry, cool and dark place.
