Sidec, a company that specializes in producing coated granules and synthetic resin flooring systems, we understand this all too well. So we decided to take a different approach to our staff party this year: we delivered a BBQ package to our employees’ homes!
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many companies to have their employees work remotely, which has reduced physical interaction between colleagues. This has only increased the importance of hosting events such as staff parties. However, Sidec understood that organizing a physical event is not feasible at the moment, given current conditions. So they decided to deliver a BBQ package to their employees’ homes as an alternative.
The BBQ package consisted of everything needed to prepare a delicious BBQ meal. From meats and vegetables to sauces and marinades, everything was included. All the employees had to do was light their own BBQ and follow the instructions included in the package. This not only provided a delicious meal, but also gave employees a common goal to look forward to and talk about during a virtual meeting.
Sidec’s initiative showed that it is possible to be creative and find alternative ways to organize events, even during a pandemic. Delivering a home BBQ package was not only a great way to increase employee engagement, but it also showed that the company cares about the health and well-being of its employees.
In times of uncertainty and stress, it is important to continue to connect with colleagues and organize events that create a sense of community.
