Stonedec Extra

The basis of this closed structure decorative gravel floor is formed by coloured quartz stones of 1-2 mm or 2-3 mm, a high quality epoxy binder, an acrylic pore filler and an extra top coat. The coating process takes place at a high temperature for optimum wear resistance of the coloured gravel grains.

This floor consists of 4 layers: primer – stone carpet – pore filler – top coat. The minimum floor construction depth of this system is 6 mm. The primer should be chosen ifv the type of substrate. The epoxy binder used in this system was developed specially for aesthetic applications to keep discolouration to a minimum. In this respect, it is one of the best in the market. As an option, you can also choose an emission-free system. These systems do not release harmful substances during installation or after the floor has been commissioned. This means the floor will also comply with European directives, as well as Belgian, German (AGBB) and/or French (A+) emission legislation for indoor floors used in homes and offices.

Stonedec Extra makes use of a standard pore filler. This acrylic screed can be applied very easily and ensures 99% of the openings between the stones are closed. This ensures the floor is easy to keep clean using a vacuum cleaner or water cleaner, or by scrubbing with water and soap-free soap, i.e. Ideal for floors that are used daily.

On top of the pore filler, the Stonedec Extra gets an extra top coat: either a standard matte or satin top coat or a beautiful glossy top coat (a glossy varnish layer). Thanks to the extra UV blockers that have been added, both top coats ensure the normal discolouration process of the epoxy binder used in the stone carpet will be greatly slowed down. The glossy version offers 2 additional advantages:

    1. Thanks to theEASY-TO-CLEAN properties, dirt will not adhere to the stone carpet, while coffee, wine, etc. stains are a lot easier to clean compared to a standard stone carpet.
    2. Unlike most other top coats, this top coat is also resistant to rubber plasticisers. This prevents yellow/brown stains from (car) tyres, for example.
